Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Summernats Entrant?
What Makes A Summernats Entrant?

Summernats entrants are known for showcasing some of the toughest and most highly modified cars in the country. Just as importantly, they are part of a supportive automotive community built on craftsmanship, pride and individuality.
These vehicles do more than catch the eye. They look, sound and perform like nothing that ever left the factory floor, with owners taking pride in every detail.
Summernats is Australia’s biggest horsepower party, drawing spectators from around the world to experience the blend of innovation, creativity and raw horsepower on display.
Got a ride that’s more than 35 years old and still carrying its original character? You qualify too.

- The Event Supplementary Regulations
These regulations apply to all competition and driving activities.
Vehicle Requirements

These can include, but are not limited to:
- Paint and body modifications
- Engine performance upgrades and engine bay presentation
- Custom fabrication
- Wheel, suspension and brake upgrades
- Custom interior work, including aftermarket audio
As a guide, we look for four or more modifications during scrutineering or judging.
Some builds are subtle, others are bold and over the top. We welcome them all. To keep the event fresh, we aim for a strong mix of styles that reflects the full spectrum of street machine culture.
When too many cars have the same look, it reduces the variety that defines Summernats. The event exists to showcase innovation, individuality and boundary-pushing builds.
Bring cars that turn heads, spark conversations and raise the bar.
Visually Standard

A visually standard vehicle may not meet the expectations of a high-impact street machine event due to a lack of clear modifications or standout design features. Indicators can include:
Summernats prioritises vehicles that push design and engineering boundaries, ensuring a strong, diverse and visually striking line-up.
Scrutineering Minimum Requirements
Scrutineering is the process where your vehicle is inspected for compliance with event regulations and any competition-specific requirements.
- Headlights, tail lights, brake lights and indicators are required.
- If any of these are not operational at scrutineering, a No Cruising Permit will be issued.
