Welcome
The Entrant Party Guide is your bible for Summernats 38. It’s got everything you need to compete hard, score prizes and make the most of every party, cruise and burnout across four huge days.
Entries Sold Out
Entries sold out months ahead of time. Then we opened a final release so more legends could roll in and crank it up.
That is the Summernats community. Passion in overdrive, thousands of machines, huge crowds and four days of pure horsepower.
You make this event what it is and we thank you for the love and support that keeps Summernats roaring.
Spectator Tickets On Sale
Entries might be sold out, but your mates and family can still get amongst it.
Tell them to grab their Season Passes, cheer you on from the sidelines and be part of the biggest Summernats in history.
Code Of Conduct
Summernats runs on the passion of its entrants. With that pride comes the responsibility to keep it safe and make it unforgettable. Every move you make on and off the track shapes the show, so lead by example and make this the best Summernats yet. So, remember:

BURNOUT PAD IS FOR BURNOUTS

SKID ROW IS FOR SKIDS

CRUISE ROUTE IS FOR CRUISING

SEATBELTS ON
ACT Police and Worksafe have made it clear that everyone must keep it cool on the Cruise Route. If you mess around, you risk being kicked out and could be the reason the event gets shut down.
Keep it simple. Rip a skid at Skid Row. Do burnouts on the Burnout Pad. Cruise on the Cruise Route. Always keep your seatbelt on. Do the right thing and don’t be that person.
Camping & Accommodation
Stay right in the heart of the action with on-site camping at Summernats or base yourself in Canberra with plenty of accommodation options just a short trip from the event.

ON-SITE CAMPING
Want to live and breathe Summernats 24/7? Camp onsite and wake up in the middle of the action. Camping is limited, so get in quick and secure your spot.
CANBERRA ACCOMMODATION
Canberra has you covered with caravan parks, self-contained units, apartments and hotels. Our mates at Visit Canberra have pulled together the best local stays.
From elite show cars to dyno heroes, burnout legends and even mullets and tattoos, we hand out trophies, prizes and bragging rights across every corner of the festival. Whatever you are into, there is a title waiting to be claimed. Explore the awards:

Important Stuff You Need to Know
Before you hit the pad, cruise route or show halls, there are a few essentials every entrant needs to know. From fuelling up to scrutineering and event regulations, this is the info that keeps you moving and makes sure Summernats 38 runs smooth.
Fuel
Your beast will not go thirsty at Summernats 38. Whether you are running premium unleaded, E85 or methanol, the onsite Fuel Depot on the Cruise Route has you covered while it is open.
You cannot bring your own fuel into the venue. This is checked at the gate, so please leave it at home. The Fuel Depot is the only place you can refuel inside the grounds.
PRICING
Fuel prices will be confirmed closer to the event.
WHERE
Between the Burnout Pad exit and the Skid Row exit.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN OUT OF FUEL ON THE CRUISE ROUTE
Move your car safely to the side so it is not blocking traffic. Ask one of our officials or security to call for a tow truck to take you to the Fuel Depot or back to your campsite.
REMEMBER
- No jerry cans can be filled
- No mobile phones in the Fuel Depot
- No smoking
- No naked flames anywhere near the Fuel Depot
- Only one passenger permitted in your vehicle, whilst in the Fuel Depot
Event Regulations & Sanctioning
Summernats 38 is sanctioned by Motorsport Australia.
This means the event operates under Motorsport Australia safety and competition regulations. Any vehicle entering driving events must pass scrutineering in line with these standards and the official Event Supplementary Regulations.
The Summernats 38 Event Supplementary Regulations will be available closer to the event.
Scrutineering
Scrutineering is your first stop once you are inside Summernats. Roll in, get your car stickered and you are set to hit the Cruise Route. The scrutineers will get you through fast, so make sure you have everything ready before you arrive.
WHEN
You will select a scrutineering time when you apply. Your confirmed time will be listed on your approval email.
WHERE
GIO Stadium - access via Haydon Drive and Battye Street.
WHAT TO DO
Check the Entrant Scrutineering Guide before you come. If your car meets the requirements, scrutineering will be smooth and fast.
STREET REGISTERED VEHICLES
If your car is street legal, drive it to scrutineering. Do not trailer it, this will only slow you down.
UNREGISTERED VEHICLES
Trailer your car to scrutineering. You will need an Unregistered Vehicle Temporary Permit to cruise inside EPIC. This permit does not cover the Braddon Fringe Festival or any roads outside Exhibition Park in Canberra.
MOTORSPORT AUSTRALIA STANDARDS
Because Summernats is sanctioned by Motorsport Australia, all driving event vehicles are scrutineered to their competition standards.
SAFETY NOTICE
Always stay with your car during scrutineering. This is for your safety and the safety of others.
