BURNOUT PAD IS FOR BURNOUTS. CRUISE ROUTE IS FOR CRUISING. SKID ROW IS FOR SKIDS.

ACT Police and Worksafe have made it clear to us that we all need to keep our cool on the cruise route like we normally do.

If you muck up on the cruise route you may be removed from the show, and could be that person who gets the event closed down. For a day, or forever. So rip a skid at skid row. Do burnouts on the burnout pad. Cruise on the cruise route. It's that simple. Don't be that person.

ENTRANT PARKING PASSES

THERE ARE THREE VEHICLE PASSES AVAILABLE AT SUMMERNATS 38

P1 ADDITIONAL ENTRANT PARKING

Additional parking is available exclusively for entrants at P1. Located outside of Gate 7, you can purchase your parking pass at time of scrutineering - dependant on availability.  One pass per entrant. Does not apply to your entered car.

Entrants with Unregistered Entrant Vehicles are permitted to exit the venue via Gate 9 to travel to their additional Entrant Park at P1.

ONSITE CAMPSITE VEHICLE PASS

To park up on your campsite you need to purchase a Campsite Onsite Vehicle parking pass through your camping booking. Once your car is parked on site you will only be able to move it on Sunday afternoon. If you move it off site prior you will be required to park in the P1 Carpark at an additional cost.

COMPETITION SUPPORT VEHICLE

Competition support vehicles are available for entrants competing in Pro Burnout Series Grand Final and Burnout Wildcards vehicles only. If you meet these criteria, we'll let you know how to purchase this pass.

TRAILER PARKING

Trailer parking is business as usual at Summernats 38 - outside Gate 7. Free for trailers only. If you are parking a vehicle with the trailer you'll need to grab a P1 Parking Pass.

Summernats is sanctioned by Motorsport Australia.

You will receive an email when your vehicle application has been submitted. Please note, entries will not go through to the approval process until full payment is made. Approval of your application may take up to 14 days. When you have been approved, you will receive an email with your entrant number and scrutineering times. To check the status of your application, you can log into your entrant portal to view your application.

Pre-judging occurs at time of scrutineering. Let our friendly officials know you’re looking to be judged so we can point you in the right direction.

Unveils for Summernats generally book out two years in advance. Complete an expression of interest form HERE

Yes, all passengers for the city cruise must have a ticket into Summernats as the City Cruise begins inside the venue.

Nope! Skid Row is a completely free for Summernats entrants! You just have to be an approved entrant to participate in skid row. Remember to follow the guidance of our officials.

No – you must be in a seat engineered to the vehicle, with a seatbelt.

Keep an eye out on your emails closer to the event, or alternatively see our Dyno team at the event.

Is outside gate 7 at Exhibition Park in Canberra. Trailer parking is free. Trailers and any contents in them are left at owners risk and should be secured appropriately.

We have an onsite petrol station at Summernats, and stock Methanol, E85 and 98 Octane.

Fuel is one of the prohibited items for Summernats. Fuel, and any empty jerry cans will be confiscated upon entry and will not be returned.

  • Fire suit meeting or exceeding SFI 3.2A/5 or FIA 8856:2000 as a minimum, or other standards recognised by Motorsport Australia.
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Helmet meeting or exceeding AS/NZS 1698:2006 or UNECE 22.05 as a minimum
  • Burnout competitors are required to have a fire extinguisher (Minimum 900g capacity AS1841) as per Motorsport Australia Regulations

Scrutineering requirements can be found here: HERE

  • Valid, current drivers licence
  • Entrant tickets, ensuring the name on these tickets matches the driver licence
  • Any PPE for competition
  • The entrant vehicle, ready for judging and scrutineering

There is a zero tolerance for skids on the cruise route.

As of Summernats 37, vehicle swaps need to be completed 4 weeks prior to the first day of scrutineering. There will be no vehicle swaps completed at scrutineering.

All vehicle swaps need to meet the Scrutineering Minimum Requirements and will go through the same approval process.

All entrants must hold a current, unrestricted, unsuspended driver’s licence. We check these too, so be honest.

Learner drivers are not permitted to be entrants.

Drivers with provisional licenses are permitted to enter however, there are some restrictions in place.

Refer to the Summernats Entrant Terms and Conditions for further information.

City Cruise is on Thursday of Summernats and is a cruise for registered vehicles on Northbourne. Entrants can nominate for this on their application form.

Supercruise is a slower paced cruise on Saturday evening on the Main Arena. The Judging Team select Supercruise entrants at time of judging at the event.

Only registered vehicles are permitted in the City Cruise. Pro tip - this is checked when you nominate and again at scrutineering.

The City Cruise begins at Exhibition Park in Canberra, proceeds along Northbourne Avenue and then turns at the end of Northbourne continuing down the other side of the road, finishing back at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

Drifting is an exhibition only, run by Drift Cadet.

Entrants will be emailed directly on this process closer to the event.

Summernats is only availble for vehicle entries.

18 plus to be a passenger in a burnout vehicle (exempt if you are an entrant yourself) (This is as you will have already signed a parental permission slip)

Vehicles running slicks are unable to cruise and will be issued a No Cruising Sticker at scrutineering.

We do not have a specific area for entrants to leave their cars overnight. You can however leave your car on your campsite (if you have one) at your own risk.

If you do not have a campsite, we highly suggest taking the vehicle back to your accommodation (on a trailer, if it’s not registered).

The event ticket gets you into the event – you just need to find an entrant that will take you for a cruise! No need for any additional or different tickets.
