The lads at Pat’s Pro Restos are no strangers to crafting elite-level show machines, the Queensland-based workshop responsible for the FORGED XY Fairmont.
Their latest top-notch creation is this second generation 1971 Chevy Camaro for Andrew McArtney, a pro-tourer style machine with a modern twist and attention to detail that needs proper time to drink in.
An on and off build for the last seven years, Pat spoke about the final product: “The level of detail is clinical. The boys have gone above and beyond, pushing the limits with design, fabrication, bodywork, paint and upholstery,” says Pat. “I’m super proud of the team and for the McArtney family.”

Andrew continued the sentiment, thanking Pat and his crew for the final product: “We had a false start with this first builder, and then Owen [Webb] introduced me to Pat, and the idea of a turn key build,” he says.
“Pat reckons this is the second best build he has done next to FORGED, and I’d have to agree with him.”

At its heart is an 800hp Warspeed-built LSA, backed by a 4L80E ’box. Under the bum is a custom Heidts rear end with chassis connectors, cradling a Race Products nine-inch diff.
The car sits on a set of colour-matched American Legend wheels, and speaking of colours, the body wears a PPG mix of Ice Blue, finished off with matte stripes.
Inside, a slate leather blue interior is offset by hand-woven yellow inserts. The JUS7ICE name pays in part homage to Andrew’s service in the Police force, as well as a play on the PPG Ice Blue paintwork.

The Camaro polled strongly in the elite judging at ‘Nats 38, finishing runner-up in the Top Bodywork and Top Coupe categories. Teaming that with wins in Top Special Effects Finish, Top Pro Two Door, and an Elite Top 10 spot, the Chevy also scored a Meguiar’s Superstars invite to Meguiar’s MotorEx on 2-3 May down in Melbourne.
