Ryan ‘Bubba’ Lofts in OR WHAT has won the top $20,000 cash prize and a Pro Burnout series ticket to Street Machine Summernats 39, after three chaotic and testing days on the Springmount Raceway burnout pad for Northern Nats 10.
Along with just under $35,000 in total prize money up for grabs across the competition, there was also two qualified tickets for Street Machine Summernats 39 in January on the line.

Three classes of tyre slayers took to the pad for Northern Nats this year, the up and comers in the Development Class, the mid-tier champions in Open Class and of course the headliner, the Pro Burnout competitors.
A unique part of Northern Nats judging was the scoring, which was done based on total accumulation of points from all three of the entrants burnouts across Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s competition.

That meant that rather than running qualifying and then eliminations, all drivers had to lay down three good burnouts over the three days to be in with a shot of winning.
Even with the cooler July weather giving us beautifully mild weather all weekend, both Friday and Saturday night saw plenty of casualties in the Pro Burnout ranks.

Several entrants including Kayne Grace in the IMPACT VL and the SHUT UP Hilux of Jack Harrison went rods out on Saturday, and the Rod Shop BLOWNHJ snapped the crank on Friday. There was also plenty of wall taps, and several contestants needing to be towed or pushed off the pad, resulting in a DNF for that skid.

Even so, the capacity crowd made for one hell of an atmosphere on Friday and Saturday night as they packed the hill all around the pad, and were treated to a world-class show all weekend. Second place in the Pro class was Kyle Hardy in MRLOOS, as he made a statement with his Friday night burnout, and Kev Davis’s EPA WHO VZ ute is never shy of throwing it down hard on the Springmount pad, as he rounded out the podium for Pro.
